Over the past 13 years Jazz in the Gardens (JITG) has grown to an event Juggernaut and helped to place the city of Miami Gardens in the spotlight. With growth comes expansion, and that’s exactly what the major musical festival has done by adding auxiliary events that lead into Jazz in the Gardens weekend.
Check out four Pre-Jazz in the Gardens events you should attend this week.
Film. Music. Art. Culture Conference– This conference dives into the business side of the entertainment industry with professional giving gems on how to succeed. The event is hosted by Grammy Award winning singer and song writer Rico Love and features Hip Hop Star Trina and many more. The event takes place Thursday March 15th 8am-5pm. Details on the flyer below.
Poetry In the Gardens– It’s no secret to many that Miami Gardens Mayor Oliver Gilbert loves poetry and credits it to helping him academically when he was student. It was his brainchild to bring a first class poetry contest to the city of Miami Gardens. He did and it gives poets from around the country and locally a chance to showcase their talents and win a grand prize. Last year the winner was awarded a grand prize of $10,000. The event takes place Thursday March 15. More details on the flyer below.
Women’s Impact Luncheon– We’re happy to see this pre-JITG event brought back to life. The Women’s Impact luncheon has always strive to be a place where women can learn, network, and of course shop for cool one of a kind items from chic vendors. This year’s luncheon, which celebrates Women’s History month, will feature guest speakers such as Actress and Star of “Black Panther” Sope Aluko; Co-Founder of “Miss Jessie’s” Miko Branch; Tamara Gant & Julie Guy, hosts of the 101.5 LITE FM Morning Show “Julie and Tamara G” and TV Host & Author Diann Valentine. The event takes place March 16th 11am-2pm. More details on the flyer below.

Jazz in the Gardens Opening Night Party– Before the party, it’s the kick off party! This event sets the mood for the weekend and this year event organizers out did themselves by bringing in the S.O.S. Band. We know you’ll be at the party taking your time and doing it right (See what we did there. SOS Band Song Reference :-)) The party takes place March 16th 8pm-1am. Details below on the flyer.
