Event group, The Social XChange , hosted the Miami screening of The Story of Hennessy and African Americans documentary at the Little Haiti Cultural Complex. The Feb. 28th event kicked off with a cocktail hour while DJ Way Trae provided the smooth R&B and Hip Hop tunes. Alexis Brown, the Social XChange’s founder, planned the free networking and film screening event. On deck was a flow of free Hennessy V.S.O.P. as well as lite bites.
Once the cocktail hour was complete, party goers piled into the theater to see the documentary. The film told the story of how Hennessy was one of the first brands to market to the Black community with dignity and respect. The brand was also one of the first to hire Black professionals and promote them to top executive positions in the the company. The documentary also followed two Black executives who broke barriers for the Hennessy brand and company.
