Brooklyn Chop House Miami celebrated its first anniversary on Friday, Sept. 4, 2026, with an elegant affair honoring the restaurant’s growth, cultural influence, and place in Miami’s dining and nightlife scene.
More than 100 guests gathered at the restaurant’s Wynwood location for the anniversary celebration, which also recognized the birthday of co-owner Robert “Don Pooh” Cummins.
Award winning actor, television host and entrepreneur Terrence J hosted the evening. Music was provided by DJ S&S, DJ Fly Guy, DJ Nini and DJ Top Feeling, keeping guests on the dance floor throughout the Labor Day weekend celebration.
The guest list included several recognizable names across entertainment, music, and sports, including Mary J. Blige, Mike Tyson, Lil Meech, Buju Banton, and more.
Guests were greeted with champagne as they entered a space transformed with lush draping, elaborate ice sculptures, and sophisticated décor. The event’s off-white and cream theme added to the evening’s luxurious atmosphere, with guests arriving in summer suits, dresses, silk, and linen.
Throughout the night, attendees were treated to exquisite hors d’oeuvres, including sushi, shrimp cocktails, fresh organic chocolate and other selections that complemented the upscale experience.
The celebration reflected a larger story of Black ownership, hospitality and cultural influence. Brooklyn Chop House Miami brought together entertainers, entrepreneurs and community members in a space designed to showcase elegance, opulence and Black excellence.
The anniversary represents another milestone for Cummins, whose career spans the music, franchise, and hospitality industries. Before expanding into restaurants, Cummins worked closely with artists including Jay-Z, The Notorious B.I.G., Foxy Brown, and Blige. He later served as executive vice president at MCA Records.
Brooklyn Chop House combines the traditional steakhouse experience with Asian inspired dishes and influences from music and hip-hop culture. Its menu features premium steaks, seafood and signature dumplings inspired by familiar dishes such as the Philly cheesesteak, Reuben and bacon cheeseburger.
The Miami restaurant, located inside the Moxy Miami Wynwood, offers a coastal take on the concept with views of the city. The two-level space was designed to bring together dining, music, cocktails, and nightlife under one roof.
For Cummins and the Brooklyn Chop House Miami team, the celebration offered an opportunity to reflect on what the restaurant has accomplished while setting the tone for its next chapter in Wynwood.
