The City of Tamarac is bringing the vibes back with the return of its annual One Tamarac Multicultural Festival on Saturday, Feb. 7, at the Tamarac Sports Complex (9901 NW 77th St.).
The free community celebration kicks off at 4 p.m. and will feature live entertainment from international recording artist Kevin Lyttle, best known for his global Caribbean hit “Turn Me On,” a song that topped charts worldwide and remains a staple at parties decades later.
The festival opens with a high-energy welcome from host and local entrepreneur Ludil, followed by a colorful lineup of cultural performances. Attendees can expect a vibrant Samba Carnival showcase, a flamenco dance performance, and a variety of acts representing the diverse communities that call Tamarac home.
Beyond the stage, the event is designed with families in mind. A dedicated attraction zone will include face painting, bounce houses, teacup and carousel rides, and even a rock-climbing wall for guests looking for a little adventure.
In a continued effort to make the event welcoming to all residents, this year’s festival will also feature a Sensory-Friendly Area. The designated space will offer a calm, quieter environment away from loud music and crowds, providing children — especially those with sensory sensitivities or developmental differences — and their families a place to relax and recharge while still enjoying the festivities.
Guests can also explore the Cultural Shop Village, which will feature food trucks and artisan vendors offering a mix of international flavors and handcrafted goods.
The evening will conclude with a laser light show illuminating the Tamarac sky.
The One Tamarac Multicultural Festival is free and open to the public. However, there will be no on-site parking at the Tamarac Sports Complex. Attendees must use the city’s complimentary shuttle service, which will run continuously from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. from the following locations:
- Tamarac City Hall (Grenada Lot), 7525 NW 88th Ave.
- Tamarac Community Center (Barbados Lot), 8501 W. Commercial Blvd.
- Tamarac Recreation Center (Trinidad and Tobago Lot), 7501 N. University Dr.
The last shuttle drop-off at the Sports Complex will be at 7:30 p.m., with return service resuming at 8 p.m.
