The Miami Foundation has officially opened registration for this year’s Give Miami Day, one of the largest annual giving events in the region.
Rebecca Fishman Lipsey, the Foundation’s president and CEO, shared the news in a video message, calling Give Miami Day her “favorite time of the year” and reminding local nonprofits and residents why the event matters.
“Historically, Miami is known to have low civic health — low donation rates, low volunteerism, low voter turnout,” Lipsey said. “Our effort in creating this day is to mobilize and inspire every single person who lives in Miami to get involved and give back.”
This year’s campaign comes at a time when many nonprofits are facing budget cuts and a slowdown in philanthropic giving. Lipsey said Give Miami Day is a chance to stand together, show unity, and raise awareness about the importance of nonprofit health in the community.
Registered organizations will have access to trainings, resources, and opportunities to be featured in the lead-up to the big day. Early registrants can take advantage of boosts, matches, and prizes to maximize their fundraising. Lipsey will also facilitate a session on September 25 focused on crafting compelling pitches and telling organizational stories.
“This really is an opportunity for our city to come together, to stand with each other, and to feel proud of the movement of our community that really cares about the future of Miami,” Lipsey said. “You matter. Sign up, and let’s run the best fundraising campaign our community has ever seen.”
