Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated Alpha Gamma Delta Omega Chapter is inviting the community to pause, breathe, and prioritize their mental health at their 2nd Annual Yoga in the Park: Hues of Healing. This free, family-friendly wellness event will take place on Saturday, May 31st from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Oak Grove Park, located at 690 NE 159th Street, Miami, FL 33162.
Designed as a mental health wellness experience, the event offers a peaceful space for families to explore healing through yoga, movement, and holistic health practices. With a variety of sessions tailored to both youth and adults, Hues of Healing aims to support attendees as they cope with anxiety, depression, and everyday stress.
The day kicks off with yoga classes at 9:00 AM, followed by a high-energy Mentally Fit boxing class at 10:00 AM, and a vibrant dance session at 11:00 AM. Throughout the morning, guests can visit the on-site Mental Health Resource Fair, which runs from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, to connect with local organizations and gain access to wellness tools and services. Additional attractions include live cooking demonstrations and resources provided by a diverse range of community partners.
Local leaders and organizations rallying behind this initiative include Miami-Dade County Commissioner Marleine Bastien, The Links, Incorporated – Dade County Chapter, Black Moms of Miami, Black Yogis of South Florida, Mentally Fitt, Black Girls Cook, CEATT, Kai Wellness, and members of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Sigma Alpha Chapter.
