Multi-Year Partnership Launches the Invesco QQQ Orange Blossom Classic, Pairing Financial Education with HBCU Legacy
The Orange Blossom Classic Committee has announced a multi-year partnership with Invesco QQQ, making the investment management firm the new title sponsor of the historic HBCU football showdown. Starting in 2025, the event will officially be known as the Invesco QQQ Orange Blossom Classic.
Invesco QQQ—best known for its role as the official ETF of the NCAA—is aligning with the Classic to elevate financial education and professional development opportunities for students and student-athletes. As the exclusive partner for asset, wealth, and investment management services, Invesco QQQ is bringing resources, programming, and career access to the HBCU community.
“The Orange Blossom Classic is more than a football game—it’s a celebration of education, culture, and community impact,” said Kendra Bulluck, Executive Director of the OBC, in a press release. “We’re proud to partner with Invesco QQQ to bring these values to life through meaningful programming that equips students and student-athletes for success on and off the field.”
As part of the new deal, Invesco QQQ will serve as the title partner of two signature OBC events:
- The Professional Business Combine: A career development experience offering workshops led by top industry leaders in finance, innovation, and planning.
- The Careers in Sports & Entertainment Symposium: A networking and mentorship event connecting students and young professionals with insiders from the worlds of media, marketing, operations, and management.
Now in its fifth year since its re-launch, the Invesco QQQ Orange Blossom Classic continues to be one of the most anticipated HBCU matchups in the country. In 2025, the game will see Howard University face off against Florida A&M University at Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday, August 30, during Labor Day Weekend. The festivities kick off earlier in the week, starting Tuesday, August 26, with a slate of official events.
