The Miami-Dade County Commission for Women (CFW) is calling on the community to help recognize women who have made major contributions to the 305. From now until May 30, nominations are open for the Miami-Dade County Women’s Hall of Fame — a space created to celebrate and preserve the legacies of local women whose leadership and service have left a lasting impact.
Launched in 2021 by the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners, the Women’s Hall of Fame aims to highlight trailblazing women who’ve helped shape the county’s social, economic, cultural, or political landscape. Nominees can be submitted by community members, civic organizations, and institutions. The nomination must include background details, a summary of the nominee’s work, and a description of how their efforts have contributed to the community’s well-being.
Those selected will be inducted during a County Commission meeting later this year and will be permanently honored at the upcoming Women’s Hall of Fame located at The Women’s Park.
The Commission for Women, which was founded in 1971, serves as an advisory board that advocates for the rights and quality of life for women across the county.
