The North Miami Community Redevelopment Agency (NMCRA) has unveiled its new Residential Rehabilitation Program, aimed at enhancing the curb appeal and structural integrity of homes within the community. Applications for the program will be open from November 4 to December 13, 2024, offering eligible participants grants of up to $30,000 for exterior property improvements.
The program is designed to help homeowners with upgrades such as installing impact windows, repairing roofs, improving landscaping, adding security lighting, and other enhancements. These initiatives are part of NMCRA’s commitment to sustainable community revitalization and neighborhood beautification.
Grant Process and Eligibility
Funding for the program is limited, and if the number of applications exceeds the available budget, a lottery will be conducted on December 18, 2024, to determine grant recipients. Applicants must submit all required documentation to NMCRA’s office by 5:00 p.m. on December 13, 2024, to be considered.
To qualify, applicants must:
- Provide a government-issued ID.
- Show proof of income and employment.
- Submit mortgage, insurance, and property tax records.
- Present a deed or satisfaction of mortgage.
A detailed application package, including eligibility guidelines and a document checklist, is available at NMCRA’s office, located at 735 NE 125th Street, First Floor, North Miami, FL 33161. Applicants must reside within NMCRA boundaries, meet income requirements, and adhere to local building codes.
