The Anguilla Summer Festival is marking its 50th anniversary with a series of events from July 21st to August 11th. Locals and visitors are invited to participate in a celebration filled with cultural activities, music, and various forms of entertainment. This year’s festival, themed “The Family Reunion,” is expected to draw a record number of visitors and returning residents to the island.
The festival celebrates Anguilla’s culture and heritage, with family, friends, and guests from around the world joining the festivities. The events commemorate the emancipation of the Anguillian ancestors and celebrate the freedoms of life.

One of the major events is the J’ouvert Celebration on August 5th, a unique street party that ends with an all-day beach party and concert. The pageant is organized under the leadership of The Honourable Dee Ann Kentish Rogers, Minister of Education and Culture, and Miss Anguilla 2017.
The Calypso Monarch Competition on August 7th at the Landsome Bowl Cultural Centre will feature top musical talents from Anguilla. On August 8th, the “Eyes Wide Shut” event themed “Enchanted” promises a night of live performances and surprises.
The festival’s Grand Parade of Troupes on August 9th will showcase vibrant costumes and dancing. The festivities continue with the Poker Run on August 10th, a high-stakes card game involving stops at five of Anguilla’s beaches. The festival concludes with the “Champ of Champs” boat race on August 11th, a major event in the island’s sporting calendar, likened to the Super Bowl on water.
