Daryl Campbell Elected to Former Boss’ Job As Florida House Representative

By Nyam Daniel

Democrat Daryl Campbell will be taking over his former boss’ job as the House Representative for Florida House District 94, after defeating four Democrats in the primary election Tuesday.

The 35-year-old newly elected official was the legislative aide for former Rep. Bobby DuBose, who represented the area before resigning in July to run for Congress. The district includes parts of Fort Lauderdale, Plantation, and Wilton Manors.

Campbell has been elected for the position, but he will not officially become a lawmaker until the results are certified by the state. Florida Politics reports that he may have to wait until March 6.

Campbell is a behavioral therapist, social worker, and Howard University graduate. He might also be the first male Florida lawmaker with #locs and he joins the growing number of Millennials going into politics. We love to see this type of representation.
