There’s no better place in the Black community to discuss what’s going on than the barbershop. So it’s a no-brainer that Jefferson Noël decided to create the Barbershop Speaks initiative that hosts a series of live events at barbershops to discuss important matters and issues in the community.
Friday, June 11 at 8 p.m., the series will take on the topic of entrepreneurship and tech in Miami with special guest Kenasha Paul, founder of Black Professionals Network. Paul and Noel will co-moderate the discussion in front of a live crowd at Fresh Kut Barbershop located at 5912 NE 2nd Avenue in Miami.
Barbershop Speaks’ purpose is to engage in intelligent discussions to enlighten, educate, and empower the community towards a more enriching life. Our mission is to bridge generational gaps, educate ourselves through intelligent discussions and grow our networks and net-worth within the community.
With Miami experiencing a tech revolution, the magic city is nationally recognized as one of the best places to live to thrive in entrepreneurship, tech, and acquire capital. While entrepreneurs and companies relocate to Miami at a record pace, it is important that Miami natives also benefit from the movement in their backyard. The event hosts will speak about the changes happening in the city and how everyone can have a seat at the table.
When: Friday, June 11, 2021. Doors open at 7pm. Event starts at 8pm.
Where: Fresh Kut Barbershop – 5912 NE 2nd Ave, Miami, Fl 33137
*Event is held in person. It will be broadcasted online as well.
