Top SoFlo Chefs Link Up for FREE Drive-Thru Dinner Distribution in Overtown

Working together is always a great move and these top South Florida Chefs are doing just that. The Sweet Exchange Miami, Broken to Inspire, Chef Kulture, The Urban and Kech This Inc will come together to provide free drive-thru dinner for individuals and families affected by Covid-19. The distribution will take place at The Urban located at 1000 NW 2nd Avenue in Miami on Saturday, May 16, 2020 from 3p.m. to 6p.m.

“We are providing home cooked full-course meals for the culture by the Kulture. Although we have to remain physically distant we don’t have to distance our social service to our community”, said Sherronda Daye of the Sweet Exchange. Sweet Jalane’s is the parent company of the Sweet Exchange; a premier southern confectionery bakery, brimming with high level food service clients, corporate confectionery branding partnerships, and a full range of other contracts with many well-known individuals, companies, and brands.

Scrumptious gourmet meals will be prepped and prepared by the black and brown culinary professional network popularly known as Chef Kulture and Sherronda Daye of the Sweet Exchange. Meals will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis to the Overtown community and participants that pre-register until food has been exhausted.

“Despite the fact that much of our work has slowed down from the pandemic, we haven’t been able to do what we love to do best and that’s cooking. We are excited to come together and give back in our little way,” said Chef Chad Cherry Co-founder of Chef Kulture. Chef Kulture is the preeminent network for black and brown culinary professionals and urban food culture across the country.

“The Urban is happy to be the meeting place for the overtown community and to assist Sherronda in making the people smile,” said President of Urban Philanthropies, Mr. Philip Bacon.
