The Carter Development Group, LLC will host its second annual EmpowerMEN Conference on February 21-23, 2020. The EmpowerMEN Conference is a leadership development and conflict resolution conference intended to address issues of the male identity, manhood, and personal development, and in the process, deepen the understanding of men as purpose-driven family and community leaders.
The 2020 EmpowerMEN Conference theme is “protect.” The conference will specifically examine a broad perspective on the topic of protection, including health, professional development, risk management, conflict resolution, leadership development, and the social role of men as protectors of women and families. Join us as we continue to explore the male identity in the 21st century with an array of speakers providing expertise in personal leadership, economic development, community activism, and conflict resolution.
The 2020 EmpowerMEN Conference will include a Friday night opening event and a panel discussion on the State of Men Young Adults Panel. Saturday events will include the screening of the Before You Shoot documentary in addition to other workshops and presentations on owning your story. Sunday includes a prayer breakfast and panel discussion on spirituality and the male identity. The event closes Sunday evening with ASCENSION Rhyme & Reason: The Poet in Conflict Resolution, a spoken word event featuring male poets having a critical discussion of their identity expressed through the performing arts.
