In Miami football has reigned supreme over the past decade and a half, but Overtown community members are hoping with the state of the art Gymnasium, that Basketball will regain popularity in the community.
The new gym, which is a part of phase two of the Gibson Park Redevelopment Project, will give young residents a chance to fall in love again with basketball. The park renonvations were swift, taking a little over a year to complete. Clarence Woods CRA director said people will enjoy the facilities and that there are plans to start a youth league so residents can compete.
The facilities are open to the public, so go check them out for yourself.
