Entrepreneur & Coach, Danie Spikes, Shares 9 Hard Truths About Being a Business Owner That No One Wants to Tell You

By Danie Spikes

I get on this man’s platform [Facebook] in a bonnet, looking like what I been through all the time telling you how hard growing a business is. Here are some hard truths about being a real entrepreneur that no one likes to talk about before you launch your business.

– There are favorites. They get everything.

– There are people who sell pipe dreams and make good money.

-Business heartbreak is one of the hardest things to deal with and it happens so much that your mental health will take a toll.

– As a butterfly you never see your wings. People will say you are great and you will feel mediocre.

– It won’t happen quickly and a lot of times people won’t share information or resources

– No one tells the full story. NO ONE!

-And making it usually happens way differently than you think.

-You will NOT launch a product and sell out overnight unless you launched too late or made too little product.

– You will almost always regret not starting sooner.

The only thing that keeps you going is the delusional fatigue that it has to work out and the people cheering you on (or booing you if you are into that sort of thing). But y’all don’t want to believe me because I don’t post daily sales- which I will never do- because it doesn’t tell the entire story.

  1. It won’t happen quickly and a lot of times people won’t share information or resources – success is a small circle that a lot of people aren’t as welcoming as you think. They do want to be your best friend when you are there. Some forget about it and get lost in the sauce. Others remember it and never lose focus and remember how you treated them before success. Great truthful article.

My unspoken entrepreneur truth: Being a cross industrial consultant required me to validate my successes in each sector of the industries I worked within.
It felt like starting over and reintroducing my skill set and expertise each time I had a new client.🤦🏾‍♀️

  3. My unspoken entrepreneur truth: I was full of passion but lacked self belief. I didn’t realize that I was capable of running an empire until 10 years in the game. It took an entire decade for me to finally say, “I know I’m good at this. I am capable of doing this and I do it well.” Once I understood the capacity of my unique gifting, it turned my business completely around.

  4. Entrepreneurship can be lonely. But you shouldn’t give up on yourself. People will want to pick your brain instead of picking a payment method. People you know might not support you until others do. Flourish anyway.

  5. Entrepreneurship can be lonely, overwhelming, and very emotional. Know your numbers! Create balance and consistency that works for you. Not others, you! Believe you can because… You can do it!

  6. Great job Hylo News on an amazing article. You did it again! Congratulations to Danie for always being ready with the jewels!
