Cupid Fest Aims to Bring SoFlo Couples and Small Businesses Together for Valentine-themed Festival

A new Valentine themed festival for couples, friends, and families is launching in South Florida called Cupid Fest. Couples are invited to come enjoy activities and great music, while supporting local small business owners. Jhenell Matthews-Allison of Herbz and Tingz LLC and Tachiana Gunness of Sorted Olio are the two South Florida small business owners who created Cupid Fest. The event will take place in Miami at Someone Do It Marina & Boat Yard, 3201 NW S River Dr.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and the rising cases in South Florida, these young Black women entrepreneurs wanted to provide a safe, family friendly alternative to the dinner reservations, bars, and movies that people usually attend for the holiday of love. To keep everyone safe, masks and social distancing are mandatory.

The Cupid Fest venue is a warehouse with large, open bay doors where vendors will be placed six feet apart and organizers say there will be more than enough room to stay socially distanced from other guests.

There is a special area at Cupid Fest called “Cupid’s Corner” where guests can enjoy a variety of events throughout the day including a book reading, yoga, poetry reading, and a musical performance by a surprise guest. For those who want to enjoy a memorable date with their Valentine or a bonding experience with their Galentine, there is a special event at Cupid Fest called “A One of a Kind Valentine Affair.” For an additional cost, you can enjoy a live demonstration from Herbz and Tingz CEO, Jhenell, as she guides you in creating your own, one-of-a-kind body oil.
