Entrepreneur Creates “Issa Vibe” Pop-Up Event to Display Black Businesses & Artists

Find out how much you know out Miami-Dade’s homeless population by taking this quiz from the Homeless Trust.

Entrepreneur, Aiz’sha Hanna, wanted to create a space for local businesses to reach new customers, so she teamed up with fellow South Florida business owners to host the Issa Vibe Pop-Up shopping event. To add a little flair, the event will feature performing artists such as poets and musical acts — something that sets them a part from other events of this nature. It all goes down this Saturday, January 23rd from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Truth Bar and Lounge in Fort Lauderdale. The venture is a partnership including Hanna’s feminine health company, Yoni and Beyond, Jazzies Dream Vacations and Berkshire Jewels.

Hy-Lo News Editor-in-Chief, Janey Tate, interviewed Hanna to get all the details on the Issa Vibe Pop-up and what motivated her to put her creative touch on the event.

Janey Tate: What inspired you to bring the community the Issa Vibe Pop up event?
Aiz’Sha Hanna: What inspired me to bring the community together for the “Issa Vibe Pop-Up Event” was the pandemic. There are businesses that are pressing to provide products and services to the community. This was my way of helping in such a hectic time — businesses and artists alike.

JT: What makes your event different from the other pop up events?
AH: My event is different from other pop-up events because as the name says, “Issa Vibe Event!” A vibe filled with support, connections, and networking while having local talent showcase their artistry and food that awakens the foodie within. This event is more than shopping; its connecting businesses to build connections, and artists with recruiters. The vibe will continue past 01/23/2021.

JT: What can people expect when they attend the event?
AH: People can expect to vibe to the serenades coming from the DJ booth as they shop between vendors. Vendors that will have a little bit of everything from clothes, candles, soaps, jewelry, vacation packages, and more. They can also expect to witness amazing talent from spoken word poets, conscious rappers, the stylings of our house saxophone player, and an amazingly talented dance group. All of this while eating soul food or vegan food — the vibe caters to everyone’s tastebuds.

JT: What precautions will you take to make sure attendees are safe during this time of the pandemic?
AH: The event has precautions in place to make sure everyone is safe. Some of the precautions are making sure everyone has a mask on at all times, socially distancing each vendor space, temperature checks at the door, and sanitizing stations at each intersection.

JT: Will this be a recurring event? If so why?
AH: This will definitely be a recurring event. I plan to host this event once a month to ensure that my community knows I am here for them — we are here for them and this includes the artists as well. During this pandemic, too many businesses have closed and plenty of artists have lost a platform to showcase their skills, so a monthly event will keep the platform and support going.

JT: How can people attend Issa Vibe and is it a fee to enter? AH: If you’d like to attend the event, tickets can be purchased at a pre-sale price of $15.00 on EventBrite.com or at the door of the event at Truth Lounge in Fort Lauderdale for $20.00. 2674 E Oakland Park Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, FL, 33306. The will take place Saturday, January 23, 2021, from 11:00 AM until 4:00 PM.
