Buy Melanin Expo Combines Day Party and Shopping to Build Support For Black Businesses

Black Business Expos are becoming increasingly popular community events, highlighting local Black Owned Businesses in communities nationwide, giving consumers the opportunity to not only shop local, but to aid in the increased circulation of the black dollar within the black community.

But what’s a person supposed to do when they find out about all of these Black Owned Businesses?

Just ask the organizers of Buy Melanin about the expo scheduled for December 7, 2019 at the Overtown Performing Arts Center during Soul Basel-Miami Art Basel Week. They have figured out how to properly curate an event that will make it easier on the cosumer to connect and support Black Owned Businesses. Buy Melanin has teamed up with Coach’s Closet, and the City of Miami. They are sponsored and supported by Miami City Commissioner Keon Hardemon, the Southeast Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Agency (SEOPWCRA) and the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) Art of Black Miami, WEDR 99Jamz, Hot 105, Cantu Beauty, Acti-Kare Weston, Juice Defined, and Brand 2 Brand Marketing.

The Expo is like a Black Business Convention, only better. The primary goal of the Buy Melanin Expo is to cultivate relationships between local Black Business Owners and consumers in the community.

The Buy Melanin Expo in collaboration with Coach’s Closet has kicked off a Sneaker Clause initiative where we will be collecting new sneakers for underprivileged children, to be donated to His House, a faith based organization dedicated to restoring the lives of children, just in time for the Christmas holiday.

We will also have on site nurses providing free blood pressure screenings as well as brief educational courses about hypertension in the black community. Additionally, we will have a massage therapist providing FREE 10-minute massages to all attendees.

Additionally, there will be 20 Black Owned Businesses present that can help you find what best suites you, your family and home. We have a carefully curated selection of local artists, food, comedians, health & beauty vendors, and apparel, to fit all of your needs. Our attendees can expect a day party atmosphere, open to all ages, free food samplings, giveaways, raffle drawings, community leaders, surprise guests, plus so much more for this special event. The Buy Melanin Expo promises to be one of the best black shopping experiences for the tri-county area.
